- also known as Salmon Trout or Rainbow Trout

AquaPri has been farming trout for more than 60 years and is one of the largest trout farmers in Denmark. We have 13 land-based trout farms and 6 sea cage sites and are farming approx. 6,000 tons / year.

Our Danish trout are hatched at our inland hatcheries, where they spend the first months of their lives. The controlled environment of these farms allows us to ensure the very best conditions for their on-growing. When they are about two years old, most of the trout are transported to our sea farms in the clean coastal waters of Denmark. Here they spend another 7-8 months until they have reached just the right condition for harvesting. Large well boats carefully transport them live to our own processing site in the town of Aarøsund, South Jutland.

Grønsund Sea Farm is ASC certified (certificate - open pdf).
